1. “Crab Carnival” Dinner Buffet at Praya Kitchen
For our first dinner, we headed to Praya Kitchen. Our main objective was the “Crab Carnival” buffet—a dream come true for seafood lovers! While indulging in a variety of fresh crab dishes was immensely satisfying, the biggest pleasant surprise was the all-you-can-eat Kagoshima Wagyu beef! We thoroughly relished this incredible, high-grade Japanese Wagyu to our heart’s content.
2. Roaring Flames & High Energy: Open Kitchens & Lavish Breakfast at Praya Kitchen
What makes Praya Kitchen so captivating is the dynamic cooking spectacle taking place in its open kitchens during both breakfast and dinner! Watching the chefs stir up dramatic flames right before your eyes creates an energizing and thrilling atmosphere. The breakfast spread was equally phenomenal, featuring everything from authentic Thai local specialties to an extensive lineup of international dishes.
3. Japanese Set Lunch & À La Carte at Kissuisen
On our second day, we had lunch at Kissuisen, the hotel’s authentic Japanese restaurant. In a serene and tastefully designed Japanese setting, we ordered their excellent-value lunch set along with a few à la carte selections. The quality of the Japanese cuisine was so outstanding that it made us temporarily forget we were in Bangkok.
4. Hong Kong-Style Chinese Dinner at Yào Restaurant
For our second evening, we visited Yào Restaurant, a modern Chinese venue offering breathtaking cityscape views, to try their exciting new menu. The Hong Kong-style cuisine—casual yet sophisticated—was beautifully presented, richly flavorful, and made for a memorable dinner experience.
Exploring Local Culture & Neighborhood Gems
Alongside our luxury stay, we took full advantage of the unique cultural and neighborhood attractions around the Surawongse district:
- Strolling Through Talat Yai: A vibrant walk through local streets to absorb the authentic neighborhood atmosphere.
- A Drive to Chinatown (Yaowarat): We ventured out to Bangkok’s famous Chinatown, soaked in its infectious energy, street food culture, and lively street scenes.
- Visiting Cultural Landmarks: We explored peaceful local spots nearby, including the historic Neilson Hays Library and the colorful Sri Maha Mariamman Temple (Wat Khaek), gaining a deep appreciation for Bangkok’s rich and diverse heritage.
From the comfort of our ultra-spacious 2-Bedroom Apartment and the relaxing time spent at the stunning infinity pool, to the dramatic fire-show dining at Praya Kitchen and authentic local neighborhood exploration, this 3-day, 2-night getaway allowed us to experience 120% of what Marriott Surawongse has to offer. It was truly an unforgettable stay!
