Samsam Yao Noi
We’ve stayed at Samsam on Yao Noi Island, a resort with a fascinating hornbill. Yao Noi Island is a resort area 30 minutes by speedboat from Phuket.
Unlike Phuket, it is an island with a very peaceful view of the island. Wild hornbills also live there because of the pristine nature that remains. I went to an island where hornbills fly.
Bang Rong Pier(Phuket)-Manoh Pier(Yao Noi)
Bang Rong Pier in front of Po Bay in Phuket. It is located in an area about 30 minutes by car from the airport. It takes 30 minutes by speedboat from the port to Yao Noi Island. This boat is a public ship and will be a shared boat. After passing Naka Island and Yao Nai Island, you will arrive at Yao Noi Island. It takes 30 minutes, but because it is in the bay, it is very comfortable with almost no waves.
When you arrive at Yao Noi Island, they will send you to each hotel by shared taxi. We waited Samsam’s car. They have pick up service,too.
Yat Fah Seaview Jacuzzi Villa
Samsam is a very small 5 star resort. It has different types of villas and is a very fashionable villa as the name “art” implies.
The villa is decorated with paintings and is very artistic.
This room is ideal for those who want to stay away from the extraordinary when staying at a hotel.
There is no TV in the guest room, so it is a resort that you can set as a week to reconsider yourself or read a book.
There is also a facility called Kyudo hall, so it is recommended for those who want to unify their spirits.
Yat Fah is a two-storey villa. If you use all the 1st and 2nd floors, it will be a 2 bedroom villa, but if you use only the 1st floor, it will be a 1 bedroom villa with a jacuzzi.
With a large kitchen, it is comfortable for long-term stays.
The garden has beach chairs and a jacuzzi on the sea view side.
Samsam recommends that you can relax in the villa all day long.
And you can also enjoy bird watching from the room.

Japanese Archery Dojo
The owner of Samsam is Japanese, so there is a Kyudo(Japanese archery) hall in the resort. We are Japanese, but I have never experienced Kyudo before, so how do you do it? I investigated various things, but it seems to be profound.
The Kyudo hall has a hollow in the middle, which seems to be good for unifying the spirit.
Kyudo bows and arrows lined up in a row. It’s the first time I’ve seen it up close. Not many people have encounter Kyudo just because they are Japanese. I never thought I would see the Kyudo hall here at the tropical resort Phuket.
To experience Kyudo, I think you should visit during the cool season around November. Kimono and hakama are also available in earnest, but it was hot in March and April, so I had a lot to change into costumes.
Also you can play table tennis there!
Pool
It’s a very small resort, but it also has a shared pool. The shared pool is right next to the Kyudo hall, which is also an adult style. It is a pool that keeps quiet all day long.
There are also beach chairs, perfect for a holiday. There is also a beach near the hotel that can be reached within a 5-minute walk, so it is recommended to swim on the beach.
Bird watching
Yao Noi Island is an island that maintains nature.
If you are lucky, you will see many birds.
Let me introduce the birds that can be seen on Yao Noi Island. After all, the representative is Hornbill. The hornbill, which is also the Samsam logo, is a symbol of Yao Noi Island. In addition, you can see Kingfisher, Pitta, Shistler, Woodpecker, Lesser coucal, sea eagle and so on.
We could see hornbills came to our villa 3 times, but we couldn’t take photos.
Dinner time while enjoying bird watching
Samsam with in-room dining. How about a meal while enjoying bird watching leisurely in your room? It is recommended to enjoy the change of the color of the sky at sunset. The items I ordered this time are Satay (chicken skewers),
Tom Yum Kung (soup),
Green Curry (green curry),
Som Tam (Thai style papaya salad),
Vermicelli salad,
mango sticky rice). ..
Breakfast @ Villa
Samsam’s breakfast is served in their own villa. If you order by 5 pm the day before, breakfast will be delivered as ordered.
I recommend Thai food. Khao Man Gai was very delicious. Breakfast is great while you enter the jacuzzi in the morning. Of course, I had it while doing bird watching. This is how to enjoy breakfast during your vacation.
