The Athenee Hotel

The Athenee Hotel is a 5-minute walk from BTS Ploenchit.
This 5-star hotel is located in the heart of Bangkok, close to Central Embassy and Central World.

The Athenee Hotel was originally a princess’s palace, and the hotel follows the design of that palace. The four special suites have names related to Thailand and are beautifully designed. This suite room will make you feel like you are in a palace.

Royal Club Lounge

This time I stayed in the Royal Club room. If you book a room with club room access, you will have access to the club lounge from check-in.
When you arrive at the lobby, you will first be guided to the club room. The club room is located on the 27th floor and is a wonderful lounge where you can enjoy the city view of Bangkok.
Since we arrived at the hotel too early, we had to wait in the lounge until check-in time at 3pm.

Breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails are included in the lounge, and soft drinks are available at other times when the lounge is open.
The staff at the lounge are very polite and you will definitely feel the hospitality.
Thanks to the attentive staff, I was able to participate in a hotel tour before check-in, and I felt that the Athenee Hotel was great because they were able to give accurate advice tailored to each guest.

Royal Room

The Royal Room is a room typical of a sophisticated Athens hotel. The 44 square meter room is decorated in blue and has a luxurious feel, with a large sofa that is comfortable to use and designed to make you feel comfortable in the room.
The bathroom is also spacious and has marble lining, giving it a luxurious feel. The separate shower allows you to relax in the bathtub, making it feel like home.

The large king size bed is comfortable and a good night’s sleep is guaranteed.
Butler service and turndown service are also available, so you can receive services typical of a 5-star hotel in Bangkok.

Hotel Tour

When you stay at the Athenee Hotel, you can participate in a tour of the suites as an in-hotel activity. This time, since I had some time before check-in, the lounge staff suggested that I join the hotel tour first, so I decided to do so.

The hotel was originally built on the site of a Thai princess’s palace, and is characterized by a design that inherits Thai culture and royal traditions.
The four signature suites are inspired by royal traditions and are special suites often used for VIPs and weddings.

Guests can tour this suite for free, so this is a tour you should definitely take if you stay at the Athenee Hotel.

This time, we had a special tour of two rooms: the Vimarn Siam suite and the Ratanakonsin suite.
The concierge will give you detailed explanations, and the tour is so comprehensive that you wouldn’t think it was a free tour.

The House of Smooth Curry

On the first night, we went to the Thai restaurant House of Smooth Curry.
Although the restaurant has a curry name, it is a traditional Thai restaurant. This is a restaurant where you can enjoy curry from each area and enjoy the taste of Thailand.

It’s a Thai restaurant inside a 5-star hotel, and the taste and service are guaranteed. It’s a Thai restaurant that you should try at least once because it’s very delicious.
If you are having trouble choosing a menu, ask the staff and they will recommend the dishes. You can also adjust the spiciness, so please ask our staff.

The Athenee Hotel’s breakfast buffet is a breakfast venue that offers a wide variety of options and excellent service. There is a wide selection of Thai cuisine, as well as traditional and international food. It has a wide variety of items that could be considered brunch rather than breakfast.

Athenee Spa

For those who want to enjoy a staycation at an Athens hotel, the Athens Spa is a must-see.
It’s a luxurious spa, so you can enjoy a luxurious time. You can receive a treatment style that is a fusion of French and Thai styles.
Needless to say, the treatment with the elderly therapist was perfect.

Picnic Lunch set

Perfect for lunch, you can enjoy a picnic set at The View by the pool. Reserve a seat for Sarah with advance request. Enjoying a picnic set while soaking in the pool is a daytime activity that allows you to enjoy a staycation at the hotel.

The pool is 1.5m deep. There is also a kids pool for children.

You can enjoy creative Japanese cuisine prepared by a chef who has been trained at a Michelin restaurant.
If you sit at the counter, you can order your food omakase style, and the chef will show you the beautiful art of cooking using fresh ingredients right in front of you.

This restaurant is aimed at adults, and uses carefully selected high-quality ingredients, making it a great restaurant to visit on anniversaries and other occasions.
The staff’s service is attentive and you can enjoy a perfect dinner.

The hotel is fully equipped with facilities, making it the perfect hotel for a staycation where you can just stay inside the hotel without leaving the hotel.
If you stay in a guest room that includes access to the club lounge, you will be able to use the lounge any time, which is one word of comfort. I’ve heard people say they spent more time in the lounge than in their room, and I think that’s true.
