SO/ Bangkok
We stayed at SO/ Bangkok for the first time in three years.
Last time we stayed in a Water Elements room, but this time we stayed in an Earth Elements room.
The stylish SO/ Bangkok hotel, located right next to Lumpini Park, is one of our favorite hotels.
There are four elements, and each element has a different room design, so we’ll have to stay there at least two more times before we can try all the rooms.
This time too, our request was granted and we were able to stay at my first choice, Earth Elements.
Comfy Earth Elements Room
Earth Elements is a designer room with a unified blue color scheme.
We think Earth Elements has a unique design compared to other Elements rooms. We’ve stayed in many hotels, but a deep blue room is rare.
It was designed by architect and interior designer Vitoon Kunalungkarn. Vitoon has worked on a number of commercial facilities, restaurants, and boutique hotels in Bangkok, and is a designer at the forefront of modern Thailand.
Earth rooms are designed with a traditional design motif from the caves of northeastern Thailand, and are in harmony with Mother Nature. The design incorporates curves into simplicity, creating a sense of peace. The blue color represents tranquility, and the walls are decorated with primitive Thai murals.
This park view room is a corner room with a view of Lumpini Park. The bathroom is spacious and has a cave-like image. The room layout is also beautifully curvaceous.
SOSHI
SO/ Bangkok is famous for its international buffet restaurant Red Oven, and SOSHI is located in a corner of Red Oven!
This is a buffet where you can enjoy Japanese food by order. It is a premium buffet with creative Japanese cuisine created by Chef Sornnarin. Sornnarin has been researching Japanese cuisine for over 10 years, and he focuses on the selection of ingredients, including authentic Tajima Wagyu beef.
You can order creative sushi and robatayaki from the menu, and delicious freshly prepared dishes are brought out one after another.
Breakfast at Red Oven
SO/ Bangkok’s breakfast venue is Red Oven. This restaurant is open as an all-day buffet restaurant. Fire Elements is on this floor. As it is a designer hotel, the restaurant venue has a very innovative design. The menu features hand-drawn illustrations that are pop and cute, making it a breakfast restaurant where you can enjoy the space from the morning.
The ceiling is high, and the seats with a view of Lumpini are made of glass and offer a spectacular view.
This floor is always bustling. You can also enjoy a delicious breakfast.
The staff are very friendly and the restaurant is always comfortable.
Strolling around the hotel
The best way to enjoy a designer hotel is to stroll around the hotel. We love the intricate interior design, even in places you wouldn’t expect.
Water
The view from the infinity pool has been greatly reduced thanks to One Bangkok, but the view of Lumpini and the city buildings is still wonderful. It is open from 6am to 10pm. It is a pool with long opening hours.
Afternoon Tea at Floor9
The Ferris wheel afternoon tea is a signature of SO/ Bangkok.
The spinning afternoon tea is a stylish tea time perfect for a designer hotel. It is served in the lobby lounge, and everything matches the cool lobby lounge. It is a combination of six types of sandwiches and six types of sweets. Reservations are also accepted for one person, so it is a great afternoon tea for solo diners.
The Lumpini view is also wonderful, and this afternoon tea is packed with the best of Bangkok.
Cocktail Time at Floor9
We recommend cocktail time in the evening. Floor9 is where you can enjoy the view of Lumpini until sunset, and the night view of Bangkok city at night.
There are many signature cocktails, and you can consult with the bartender if there is a cocktail you like. The signature dishes are the best, and the fusion dishes are stylish and surprising, typical of SO/ Bangkok.
The creative chirashi, a Japanese sushi wrapped in a hard taco, is delicious and goes well with cocktails. The beautifully decorated salmon roe and shrimp miso pasta are also delicious and recommended. The burrata cheese is a classic Italian style, but the Wagyu steak with massaman sauce was a fusion with Thai cuisine, offering a new taste.
Floor9’s fusion cuisine is recommended, so we recommend trying it with a delicious cocktail.

The staff dressed in a uniform designed by fashion icon Christian Lacroix, which combined traditional Thai garments with a modern, French twist. It so cool!
