Renaissance Phuket -Renovated Pool Villa

We stayed at Renaissance Phuket for the first time in about a year. This time, We stayed in a renovated pool villa. The remaining half will be renovated during the rainy season this year, so from November 2025 onwards, all rooms will be renovated.
I’m looking forward to seeing all the rooms renovated.
Renovated Pool Villa
The layout is basically the same, but the entrance area is now more open and the whole room is brighter.
Until now, the room had a soft impression with a green theme, but with the renovation it has become an orange-toned room, giving it a more modern feel. We think having a bold color can make a big difference in the atmosphere of a room.
There is a large pool in front of the bedroom, and the layout leading to the bathroom remains unchanged.
The pool villa’s bathroom is very spacious, and the toilet and shower area are open, giving it a tropical villa feel.
This type of pool villa feels more like a healing pool than a play pool, and is an adult pool with a Zen atmosphere.
Being able to see the pool from your room is great for feeling cool.
Kids Pool
The kids club and kids pool are next to each other.
Although it is a kids pool, the atmosphere is so nice that at first glance you might think it is an adult pool if you don’t look closely.
It is located in the shade of the trees so that children can use it safely and without being exposed to strong sunlight. I’m sure adults would also feel great taking a nap here, but since it was being used by a family, I decided to refrain and head to the main pool.
Main Pool
It is located right in front of Ta Kian and Sandbox, in what could be called the main area of Renaissance. This was my fourth time staying here, and we were reminded that the pool here is of a high standard, even among Phuket and Thailand.
First of all, there is a staff member dedicated to the pool, who provides thorough, attentive service, from setting out towels to handing out lemon water to guests. We thought it was great that this service was always available. They always greeted me with a smile.
From adults to children, the best way to enjoy the tropical island of Phuket is to simply relax by the pool without having to do anything.
The Renaissance pool is the perfect place to sunbathe and laze around.
If you stay multiple nights, the staff will remember you and you’ll feel like you want to sit in the same seat again today.
This time, we happened to encounter rain, and the staff moved the guests’ towels and luggage to the center of the parasol to keep them from getting wet, and even moved the entire parasol, which was a big job. Renaissance has a lot of considerate staff. We had a pleasant stay. While Thailand has become a hotel bubble and new hotels are opening one after another, there are now few hotels that can provide such detailed service. We hope they continue to provide this service.
Takieng
If you were to ask me about the best Thai food in Phuket, I would say Ta Kian would definitely be in the top five.
This Thai restaurant serves authentic Thai food, has many options, and allows you to enjoy the taste of the south. You can order with confidence because everything you order is delicious. If you don’t know what to order from the menu, just ask the staff and they will give you advice.
We highly recommend yam salai (sea grape salad), which is only available in Phuket and has a spicy Thai flavor. We also love the scrambled egg with miang leaves, so I highly recommend you try it. The beef curry and beer salad are made with tender Wagyu beef, so you don’t need a knife to chew them. Pad Thai and tom yum soup are classic Thai dishes, and both are refreshing and delicious. Tom yum is a medicinal soup, with a sour taste that makes it easy to drink.
Breakfast at Loca Vore
Breakfast is served at Loca Vore. Currently, Loca Vore is open from morning to night as an all-day dining restaurant. As it is a restaurant that serves international menus, the breakfast has a wide variety of dishes and is delicious.
We tried the three recommended dishes listed in the hotel information desk (fried pan-fried eggs, Thai ramen, and coconut pancakes), but we highly recommend you try them too.
There are also plenty of salads, cheeses and cold cuts, and Asian dishes. The soup for the Thai ramen “Kuay Teow” changes daily, and rice dishes can also be ordered daily. Other dishes such as fried rice, fried noodles, and porridge are lined up in the buffet line, which is nice. There is also a fruit and juice bar, and Renaissance is particularly recommended because the baristas make delicious coffee for you. Cold drinks are also made in regular sizes, so you don’t have to bring them back multiple times, and you can enjoy delicious iced coffee or iced Thai tea in the morning.
Sand Box
Sandbox is an open-style restaurant located in the pool area.
We ordered something from the new menu. Sandbox is an international dining restaurant, but the Italian food is recommended. The pizza baked in the pizza oven and the chef’s special pasta and risotto are delicious and will get you going.
Even though he said he wasn’t that hungry, he finished it all in no time. Everything was delicious, so we recommend sharing it with everyone so you can enjoy every bit of it.
This pizza is also recommended for children.
The restaurant has a beach-style tropical feel, with sand bouncing off the inside. You can access it directly from the poolside, so it’s especially recommended for lunch. There is also a wide selection of tropical drinks, and they have happy hours, so it’s also recommended for drinks and snacks!
The Lounge
In the evening, We recommend the happy hour in the lounge.
We got cocktails during the Buy 1 get 1 free promotion. What’s more, we were surprised at how large it was.
Enjoy delicious drinks while watching the sunset in a lovely open-air lounge.
Also, from 6pm there was an event where we participated in making a punch ball ritual!
It was delicious with mekong, a Thai liqueur. Sunset time on the beachside is recommended, but on the second day we also recommend the lounge and lobby area.
Dinner @Loca Vore
For dinner on the second night, we had Loca Vore.
This was the first time We’ve stayed at the Renaissance since the COVID-19 pandemic and found Loca Vore open for dinner. We were a little happy to see that things were back to normal.
This is an international restaurant where you can order a variety of dishes, including Thai food. You can also order steaks, and We ordered spicy chorizo. We also ordered a cheese platter, pasta, and fried chicken for a snack dinner. There are also plenty of snacks that can be enjoyed with beer or wine, and we recommend Loca Vore for dinner.
Plane to Beach Cycling
Renaissance offers free mountain bike and bicycle rentals, so we rented a bike and headed to Airplane Beach! To get to Airplane Beach, head right after leaving the hotel. If you search for general roads on Google Maps, you’ll end up taking a long detour, but there is actually an off-road shortcut that allows you to easily cycle to Le Meridien Mai Khao. It takes more than 30 minutes one way, but it’s a good workout.
Take a great shot with Airplane Beach in the background.
If you go left from the hotel, you will reach Mai Khao Beach, and if you drive a little further, you will arrive at the JW Marriott. Further ahead is Turtle Village, where you can enjoy shopping. When you go out to the beach, you can enjoy the idyllic scenery of horseback riding and lifeguards fishing. You can also see planes landing in the distance from the Renaissance area.
When we returned from cycling, they brought me cold towels and water. Renaissance Phuket’s attentive service is what makes it a great place to stay. It’s a hotel that makes you want to stay longer.
